Costa Rica appeals to couples whose guest list skews younger and more active, and who want the wedding to sit inside a wider trip rather than be the whole of it. Guanacaste on the Pacific coast holds the resort infrastructure; the volcano and cloud forest regions inland give guests a genuine reason to extend by three or four days.
Fewer properties here run dedicated South Asian programmes, which means more of the Indian catering and décor has to be brought in or built. That is workable but it changes the budget and the timeline, and it needs to be planned rather than assumed.
Liberia (LIR) serves the Guanacaste resort corridor with nonstops from New York, Newark, Dallas, Houston, Chicago, Atlanta, Los Angeles and Toronto. San Jose (SJO) has wider service but is four hours from most beach resorts.
