Your wedding in Mexico

The baraat comes down a path lined with palms, the mandap faces the Caribbean, and three hundred of your people are all inside one resort for four days. Mexico is where more Indian destination weddings happen than anywhere else on earth, and it is the region we know best: we have run two at Moon Palace alone.

Why Mexico

Why Mexico works so well for South Asian weddings

Everyone can get there

Nonstop flights to Cancun from New York, Toronto, LA, San Francisco, Dallas, Houston, Chicago and Vancouver, most between three and five hours. Your attendance rate is decided at the airport, and Mexico wins it.

Kitchens that already know Indian food

Royalton Riviera Cancun runs a standing Indian restaurant with a dedicated chef. Moon Palace has fed three-hundred-guest Indian weddings for years. This is not a special request here; it is a product.

All-inclusive economics

Every meal, every drink, every guest, all week, inside one negotiated contract. For a four-day celebration with three catered events, the all-inclusive model is what keeps a 200-guest wedding affordable.

Baraat, dhol and open flame

Several properties genuinely permit a baraat with a horse, and Moon Palace and Hard Rock allow an open-flame havan in approved venues. These permissions are contractual, and we get them in writing.

One thing to plan around

A Hindu or Sikh ceremony is not a legal civil marriage in Mexico. Most couples sign the paperwork at home and hold the ceremony that matters in front of their families. Our guide to legal marriage in Mexico covers exactly how that works.

Where in Mexico

Three coasts, three different weddings

Cancun & Riviera Maya

The deepest bench of wedding resorts in the world: Moon Palace, Royalton, Hard Rock, Barcelo, El Dorado and more, twenty minutes to an hour from a major hub airport. If your guest list is over 150, start here.

Los Cabos

Desert cliffs meeting the Pacific, a shorter flight for the entire West Coast, and a more grown-up, luxury-leaning feel. The natural pick when the wedding is anchored in California or Vancouver.

Puerto Vallarta & Riviera Nayarit

Jungle mountains falling into the ocean, golden-hour ceremonies on the Pacific, and a calmer pace than Cancun. Strong for mid-size weddings that want scenery over scale.

We have done this here

Two Moon Palace weddings, told straight

A 175-guest Hindu wedding with fifty guests flying from London, twenty from the USA and seventy-five from across Canada: private transfers, exclusive check-in, a Sangeet and Mehndi night in the ballroom, the ceremony at the Toucan Gazebo with a Pandit Ji flown in from Canada, and the reception in the largest ballroom on property. And an intimate 75-guest Anand Karaj in the Bougainvilla Gazebo, with the reception in the grand ballroom. What makes Moon Palace work is not the beach. It is that the events team has done this often enough that nothing surprises them.
